Mare Tera is an a cappella choir from Barge in Italy. The choir members collect and sing traditional songs from the valleys of the western Alps. The songs are sung in the language of Piedmont, in Occitan or are sung in Italian. The group wants to continue the wonderful tradition of a cappella singing between the valleys of Italy and France, to maintain the songs and to expand them, because it is these songs that bring together the people of Barge and the surrounding communities. For 30 years, Mare Tera has organised “Cante e Cammina” every summer in the mountains around Barge, where many people come many people come together to sing and hike. Like Backnang, Barge is twinned with Annonay. Musical director: Diego Bertolini.
Mare Tera will enrich various areas of the town centre with Italian sounds.
